Shadows of the White Sun
An open-world samurai epic in five acts and a hundred missions. Emperor Kahn's Crusade of the White Sun has conquered the islands. Fifteen years after his village burned, Ren Kisaragi is still running. One clean cut ends a life. Two careless ones end yours.
The look you choose is Ren as a man of twenty-three. In the first missions he is still a boy of eight.
Every technique, Masamune in hand, Ō-yoroi, a rebuilt hideout, and a full purse. Nine weapons on the belt; the rest wait on the forge rack. Does not overwrite your save until you rest. Childhood missions keep Ren a boy; later missions start him as a man with Kumo.
Emperor Kahn, a foreign-born conqueror, has crowned himself ruler of a unified Japan. His army marches under enormous white banners marked with a golden sun, and calls its campaign the Crusade of the White Sun.
None of that has reached Kiyohara yet. The village sits between a cedar forest and a river that turns gold every autumn. Ren Kisaragi is eight years old, and his greatest treasure is a grey horse named Kumo.
Five acts, a hundred missions. Gold markers on the map show where the next mission begins; walk into one to start it. Between missions the island is yours. Your journal (J) keeps the story so far.
